Invitation to the 2nd platform-event for all PhD-students of our both institutes from the Fraunhofer IOF & IAP
Dear fellow PhD Students of the IOF and IAP,
with the opening of the new semester, we would like to offer again the newly established format of the PhD workshop to provide a framework for your desire for networking and exchange.
We invite you to the ACP auditorium on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2025, from 9:00 AM. You can expect brief insights into the research topics at the IAP and Fraunhofer IOF from various working groups. This event will also provide an excellent opportunity to explore potential collaborations.
But of course, the main focus will be on you again: Here you will have space (and time) to discuss your scientific questions during poster sessions and the opportunity to exchange experiences and solutions. We are also looking to establish and vote for the new PhD council as a representation of the PhD students of IAP and IOF.
As there were quite a few of you confused about the posters to be created by you, we attached a template which can be used. We would like to point out that you are not supposed to create a conference poster but rather a basis for problem exchange and discussion with your colleagues.
In order for us to estimate how many of you will participate, please register by March 20th with the link below.
We look forward to seeing you!

Poster Template
Present your doctoral research in dedicated poster sessions. Use the poster to facilitate discussions. Keep it simple, you should not aim for conference level results. Rather see it as a conversation starter about your research. (Please design the posters in such a way that you can draw the greatest benefit for your concerns. see also the "Poster Template" below). Please do not spend multiple days polishing your poster!
To give some suggestions we created a poster template. Feel free to take a look at it: Templatepptx, 3 mb · de
Please keep in mind that all other conference participants will probably want to print their posters almost a day in advance, so problems with in-house plotting are to be expected. Early planning of poster printing can prevent this!
Poster boards and mounting materials will be provided in the ACP foyer.
