UKPFLEX
The aim of the project is the development of a laser-based process chain for the production of optically transparent components. The steps "3D modification", "functionalization" and "laser polishing" are to be carried out with ultrashort laser pulse, combined with an etching step to enable shape separation. Fundamental investigations for all four process steps and the development of models for the various interaction processes are among the scientific and technical objectives, as is the execution of extensive experimental investigations to optimize the process parameters in order to allow only minimal damage to the glass volume. These requirements and goals are to be achieved with a modified UKP laser system whose beam and pulse shaping properties can be flexibly adapted to the different process conditions. The project focuses on the corresponding design of the optical beam paths and focus parameters as well as the investigation of the optimal process parameters.
