The theory of relativity is an improtant part of curricula and ongoing research, but we also deal with it (often unknowingly) in our everday lives. In contrast, there are almost no experiments suitable for school about this topic.

For this reason we want to expand the range of our student lab de with experiments that demonstrate different aspects and principles of special and general relativity and make learners more familiar with them.

A first project is the development of relativistic clocks based on Arduino, that are hybrids out of simulations and real experiments. This will enable students to experimentally analyze and understand, among other things, the effects of special relativistic and gravitational time dilation as well as length contraction .
