The junior research group studies gravitational effects in laboratory quantum systems. The focus is on experimental distinguishability between effects of classical spacetime curvature and such effects that assume a quantisation of the gravitational field. In detail, research topics are:
- Gravitational decoherence effects due to classical and quantised spacetime perturbations
- Interplay of quantum decoherence and nonlinear evolution of a wave function, e.g. in semiclassical gravity
- Different coupling schemes for classical gravity and quantum matter
- Requirements for experimental tests of gravitational effects in quantum systems
