Prize of the Dr.-Ing. Siegfried Werth Foundation

Guidelines for the prize award

The Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Dr.-Ing. Siegfried Werth Foundation offer a prize for the best doctoral thesis in the field of optical measuring technology. Works in the field of coordinate measuring technology or dimensional metrology are favoured.

The prize is donated with €1,500. The award of the prize takes place at the Alumni Day (official certificate presentation ceremony).

If there is no application to honour a doctoral thesis, the prize can be awarded to a diploma or master thesis in the field of optical measuring technology. In that case the prize is donated with €1,000.

All graduates, who finished her/his thesis in the last year and the university teachers of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy are eligible to apply for the prize and nominate candidates. Together with the application submit, please, the thesis, a list of publications and a CV of the candidate.
