Polarimetry in the optical to millimeter wavelength range offers important insights into various phases of planet formation. From star-forming molecular cloud cores and fragments to the properties of protoplanetary disks and the characterization of exoplanets, observational studies and numerical simulations are used to demonstrate the potential of polarization measurements in the investigation of the planet formation process.
